FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR
VEHICLE RETURN

Am I required to have my vehicle inspected prior to returning it?

Yes. BMWFS requires all vehicles to be inspected prior to returning them. This may be done here at Bob Smith BMW by a BMW lease-end inspector, or this may be done through a third-party inspection company by calling (800) 959-4269 Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 6:00 pm PST and Friday 6:00 am to 3:00 pm PST. Closed Saturday, Sundays, and all bank holidays.

What does the lease-end inspection process look like?

A BMW lease-end inspector will assess the damage to the vehicle through a special app. In most cases, the inspector may offer an estimate of lease-end charges to you. Take a look at the video to learn more about BMW’s lease-end protection policy.

What if I have a BMW lease-end protection policy?

If you have any damages to your vehicle that are covered under the BMW lease-end policy you’re all set. BMWFS will credit those charges that are covered under the BMW lease-end protection policy to your BMWFS account.

What if I have don’t have a BMW lease-end protection policy?

If you didn’t purchase a BMW lease-end protection policy and your BMW has some damage to it we will go over your options with you. Depending on the level of repairs needed we may need to go through a BMW Authorized body shop for an estimate to repair the vehicle, or you may want to return the vehicle un-repaired to BMWFS. If the repairs are not made prior to returning your vehicle BMWFS will assess any and all charges to you in your final lease-end invoice.

My BMW maintenance light is on. What should I do?

BMW requires all services due to be completed prior to returning your vehicle. As a reminder, BMW covers the first 3 years or 36,000 miles with the BMW Ultimate Care program. If the maintenance has not been performed prior to returning the vehicle BMWFS may assess a $750 fee to the lease-end charges.
